Catholics believe that from the moment of conception (when
a sperm fertilises an egg) human life begins, and that that
life is therefore to be protected. The foetus is a human
life and has all the genes it needs to become and grow into
a baby. |

A foetus = a human life.

An unborn child can feel pain.

|
At 30 days old the foetus' nose
and mouth are clearly visible.

Abortion has long lasting harmful
spiritual and psychological effects.

Euthanasia (the killing of a patient suffering from an
incurable disease or in an irreversible coma), for whatever
reason, is totally at odds to Catholic beliefs. Just as we
believe that life is sacred, is a gift, from the moment it
begins and should be protected, the same holds for when it
ends. We believe that the only person who has a right to
end life is God himself. |
|
When someone is terminally ill or elderly, Catholics believe
that they should be cared for and treated with the up most
respect and dignity. |
