Prince Caspian*NEW: JUNE 2008 - PRINCE CASPIAN

Prince Caspian is in danger. His uncle, the usurper Miraz (Sergio Castellitto), and his wife have had a baby boy. And Caspian (Ben Barnes), who should be king, stands in the way of Miraz's ambitions for his son. Caspian flees the castle, hotly pursued by some of Miraz's men. Deep in the forest, he falls from his horse and, feeling that he has no hope, blows a magic horn to summon assistance. Caspian doesn't know it, but the horn has pulled Peter (William Moseley), Susan (Anna Popplewell), Edmund (Skandar Keynes) and Lucy (Georgie Henley) back into Narnia. (Taken from an e-mail sent out by te Damaris Trust)

“One of the things I love about Prince Caspian is that in its illustration of a return to truth, justice and faith after a millennium of corruption, the story shows us that no matter how far we have strayed, there is always a way back, all we have to do is find it and recognise it.”

Douglas Gresham, stepson of CS Lewis

Culture Watch TV

In this Culturewatch.tv video, they discuss the idea of the lost Narnian heritage, which the Pevensie children play a central role in recovering, and reflect on its relevance to our society. This video includes clips from the film and interview footage with executive producer Douglas Gresham, who is C.S. Lewis's stepson.

Director of the Catholic Enquiry Office, Mgr Keith Barltrop said, “The story of Narnia is enchanting and has captivated the imagination of generations of children and adults.  C.S. Lewis was a Christian and religious themes and symbols lie at the heart of the plot.  The aim of our web resource is to provide fans with free and fun Narnia materials, but also to invite them to walk into the wardrobe and explore the Catholic faith.”

Narnia exists....with a patron saint!

Narnia and Narni

You may be surprised to know that C. S. Lewis took the name of 'Narnia' from an ancient Roman town in the Italian province of Umbria.

Blessed Lucy of Narni and the stigmata

Stigmata is spontaneous manifestation of bloody wounds on a person's hands, feet, forehead and back - similar to the wounds of the crucified Jesus.

What and who is a saint?
